The return of the Oxnard Salsa Festival has been postponed an additional year.

The Oxnard Downtowners, a small non-profit organization, operates several community-based events throughout the year. The Oxnard Salsa Festival is its largest event and requires the most resources to plan and organize.

“We had anticipated the festival’s return in 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The decision was made to postpone it one more year until more resources were available to ensure a successful event,”  said Gary Blum, a member of the Oxnard Downtowners. “We know cancelling the festival will disappoint many in the community who have made the Oxnard Salsa Festival a family tradition. We look forward to welcoming salsa fans back next year.”

The Oxnard Salsa Festival began in 1993 to celebrate all things salsa: the food, the music, and the dance. The free, two-day event attracts more than 35,000 people.

Dates for the 2024 Oxnard Salsa Festival are July 27 and 28.
