Calling All Muralists!

Muralists-we have some exciting new projects starting early next year, and we need you! We'll have more information available soon, but if you're interested in potentially participating in (fairly paid) mural projects around Gowanus this spring, please fill out this form and we'll be in touch in the coming months!

This Monday at 135 Kent Ave in Willamsburg:
Gowanus Artists at Brooklyn Pop-Up!

On View at Established Gallery!

Warm Wishes is a curated small works show featuring just a few of the many Gowanus artists!

We're biased, but we think original artwork by local artists is the best gift, and the works in this show are priced with that in mind. Come find something for your significant other, a hard-to-shop-for friend, or even yourself!

Tonight December 9th Established Gallery is hosting an opening reception for Warm Wishes from 6-9pm. There will also be a pop-up marketplace with gifts like apparel, coloring books, holiday cards, baked goods and more. We hope you'll come celebrate the year with us as we look forward to 2023!

Participating artists: Miguel Ayuso, Jon Bunge, Brooklyn Buzzy, Emily Chiavelli, K Haskell, Traci Johnson, Jessica Lee, Sean Qualls, David Samuel Stern, Andrew Smenos, Amy Weil, Marlene Weisman and Chris Weller

Open call for BIPOC fellows at The Brooklyn Botanic Garden!

Five Fellows will have access to Materials for the Arts to produce a work under the theme - “Branching Out: Trees as Community Hosts”. Each artist will create two works that are in conversation with each other.  The first will be a public artwork presented summer 2022 on the grounds of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and another exhibited in a traditional gallery setting following the public art installations. The Public Art exhibit will be curated by former AnkhLave Garden Project Fellow, and current AnkhLave Curator in Residence, Cecilia Andre.

Looking to buy or sell used gear or art supplies?

SOLA Market is building a hub for artists to easily SOURCE, SELL, and TRADE the supplies, materials, and tools that POWERS their unique creative process and art production that is sustainable and drives for a more circular art economy. We believe that the artist starts and ends with accessibility, connection, and mutuality, providing anyone pursuing art the resources, knowledge, and support needed. That is what we define as ‘Good’ art at SOLA Market! This is how SOLA Market works:

- We source pre-loved gear, materials, supplies, and tools across all creative disciplines from artists like the ones here in ArtsGowanus' community of artists. You can submit any items up for sale or trade HERE, or at
tinyurl.com/solacircle

- Your pre-loved art supplies are posted on Tuesdays on the SOLA Market Instagram, @sola.market, on what we call 'SOLA Circle Tuesday.'
- Artists keeping up with SOLA on Instagram, DM, or emailing us directly. Gear often moves fast, so turn on alerts for when we are posting on SOLA Market.
- We introduce artists selling or trading gear to interested buyers via email to let you negotiate prices, ask questions, and discuss how you'd like to exchange.
- You have a little more cash in your pocket, new gear yourself from trading, OR you've scored a deal on great pre-loved art materials, tools, or supplies needed to make your creative vision come to life!
