Assistance League Receives $10,000 Donation from CAPTRUST Community Foundation

Members of the CAPTRUST Folsom office visited Assistance League of Sacramento on September 21 to deliver a check from the CAPTRUST Community Foundation for $10,000. CAPTRUST supports nonprofit organizations throughout the country that are committed to enriching the lives of children in their community.

We are grateful for this incredible support as we continue to transform the lives of children in the Greater Sacramento area who need our assistance.

Thank You, Captrust Folsom

Operation School Bell® Program

Off to a Great New School Year

Members of our signature program support underserved children in 39 Title-1 schools in four area school districts. They are busy purchasing and delivering clothing, shoes, pleasure reading books, and school supplies. In this post pandemic world, we've learned that needs of the children in our schools have changed. We no longer have a standard package of items that each and every school receives. We have pivoted to meet the express needs identified by our individual schools.

Meeting Needs, School-by-School

As part of our August back to school support, we handed out pencil bags and backpacks at Aspire Alexander School in the Sacramento City Unified School District. We are particularly proud of this effort, as our Senior Friendship program provided support with the wonderful handmade, cloth pencil bags, that held the supplies.

It's Time to Open Your Heart

We can’t do it alone. Each year we reach out to our loyal supporters to ask for financial help to operate our programs. Your support provides clothing and books to children in need, supplies foster youth with sheets and towels to start their new independent life, helps move homeless individuals into permanent housing, and assists with a college education for those with difficult life circumstances. Your help is so appreciated.
