Autumn Is Approaching - Fall Programs at PNC

Arts and Entertainment

August 24, 2023

From: Placer Nature Center

Placer Nature Center is eagerly awaiting autumn!
It's starting to feel like fall is approaching, thanks to this week's weather. With the autumn season so close, we are getting excited about moist moss, harvesting acorns, and school field trips! Our team has been working hard to create educational and engaging experiences for students of all ages.

From observing the changing colors of the season, exploring the life cycles of flora and fauna, and learning the culture and history of the native peoples of the Sierra Foothills, our programs are designed to provide a hands-on learning experience that students will remember for years to come.

Contact us today to schedule your fall field trip and make this season one to remember!

Below you will find dates for our Little Tykes Family Nature Program, photos from Summer Camp, and introductions to our new board members!

Donna Vetromile is our newest board member, but has been a docent with PNC since 2007.

Donna grew up in San Francisco, (and Kern County a bit), she graduated from Chico State University, where she earned a degree in English and a teaching credential. She taught elementary school in Tehachapi, CA for 8 years, and Nevada County for 26 years, before retiring in 2006. She married and was blessed with two wonderful sons and one adorable granddaughter. Donna participates in a tai chi group and a yoga group. She is a chaplain for Unity of Auburn, and a substitute worker for Unity Thrift and Gift.

Donna trained as a PNC docent in the fall of 2007, and she still does a few days a year at the Nature Center. She is happy to lend her support for the center as a new board member.
