Cantabella Children’s Chorus Wins at Golden Gate International Choral Festival

International award-winning Cantabella Children’s Chorus registration is open until September 15, 2023. Livermore and Pleasanton training classes and rehearsals for our December concert have just begun for all ages, pre-K through 12th grade. Instructor “Tree” Therese Gorman shared a quote from one tot, “I can’t wait to get back and be a big kid this year!”

Cantabella Children’s Chorus Wins at Golden Gate International Choral Festival, July 9-15, 2023. Under the direction of Artistic Director Clem Cano, our top choir took 2nd Place in the 12th Golden Gate International Choral Festival in both the Youth Historical and Youth Folk categories. Chorister Renna Popli took First Place in the Youth Solo competition. She attends Amador Valley High School, Pleasanton. Pleasanton chorister Helen Li who attends Dorris-Eaton School took third in the Children's Solo competition.

Cantabella has an exciting year planned for its youth choirs. Two concerts in December and May with many guest appearances, including Nutcracker. Cantabella has been invited to sing at the 1903 Stanford (University) Memorial Church. Mr. Cano stated, “Being asked to sing at this venue is an honor; not just anyone gets to perform there.” Cantabella plans to travel to Ireland in June 2024 and has been invited to Estonia in 2025.

Youth from as far away as Alamo, Lafayette, and Brentwood are currently enrolled in Cantabella along with San Ramon, Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton. Register your child soon. www.cantabella.org
