FireBase LloydChillin in the Sticks will take place at the Veterans Owned and Run Firebase Lloyd campground. As you wander the grounds, you will see many memorials from the Wars these brave folks fought in to preserve our freedoms. From the tank out front to the helicopter and even a memorial to our four-legged friends who fought bravely for us. Each has a story behind it that transports you to another time. The memorials on site will hit Your heart and make you want to hug these brave men and women who welcome us to Chill in the sticks with them. Enjoy Camping Be it RV, Tent, PopUp, or Car at Private exclusive camping. We are dry / boondock camping. We are a No Footprint Dry Boondock Festival. This means pack in what you will need, as we do not have water or electricity on site for campers. The veterans who call this base home are a special breed of heroes who have sacrificed and served their country selflessly. They deserve to be celebrated and respected for their bravery and dedication, and it is an honor to be able to camp in their presence. We should always strive to show our appreciation for their service by leaving the grounds better than we found them. Thank you to those and their families who are currently serving and who have served!

100 years of country Music Explore the Sub-Genre's and the Evolution of Country Music Country Music has been a prominent part of American culture over the years. From its roots as "hillbilly music," also known as "Southern Music," Country Music has gone through a major transformation. Drawing influences from blues and gospel, Country Music was classified as an independent genre by record producers in 1949 – effectively replacing the term "hillbilly" with "country and western." Thanks to advancements made in radio technology, Country Music spread across various areas throughout the US and began to connect with new audiences. Moreover, this style of music resonated deeply during the Great Depression and World War II because of its relatable themes surrounding grief and loneliness – mirrored in most Americans’ daily lives. What wonderfully intricate stories are we likely to find if we explore further into these genres? Let's go on an exciting adventure to unearth more about this ever-evolving American Music !
