City of Longview Celebrates 2023 National Mentoring Month

The City of Longview will celebrate January 2023 as National Mentoring Month at a Mentor Recognition event on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The event will held at 9:30 a.m. at Coffee Mill, 2001 Gilmer Road, and is hosted by the City of Longview’s Partners in Prevention Aspire Mentoring Program

“We wanted to do something different this year for National Mentoring Month,” said Aspire Mentoring Program Administrator Stephanie Adams. “With this event we are not only recognizing our dedicated volunteers, but we are also drawing attention to the importance of mentoring by visibly celebrating in a public place.”

City Representatives, City of Longview Staff, and Mentoring Advisory Council members will be at Coffee Mill with posters and balloons to cheer on mentors as they receive a treat from sponsor Everest Rehabilitation Hospital. The event will also include the reading of the proclamation declaring January National Mentoring Month in Longview.

“Everest has chosen to partner with the Aspire Mentoring Program due to our shared goals of serving others,” said Sharron Fowler, Director of Business Development for Everest Rehabilitation Hospital. “Mentoring others is the pathway of hope and inspiration!”
