(Longview, TX) Partners in Prevention’s Aspire Mentoring Program (AMP) and Coalition for Drug Free Youth (CDFY) are co-hosting Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Watch UR BAC program on Friday, October 21st from noon-1pm at Maude Cobb Convention Center, 100 Grand Blvd, Longview. The Watch UR BAC program provides information about underage drinking laws, social hosting laws, trends in alcohol, and drug trends and culture.

“Watch UR BAC staff bring such important statistics and education specifically targeted to each individual community, and they do so in such an interactive way,” said Whitney Pierce, CDFY Program Coordinator. “They set up a mock teenager’s bedroom with hidden stash containers, drug references, vape pens, and clothing brands and their meanings to educate adults on recent youth drug trends.”

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Watch UR BAC program, in cooperation with TxDOT, offers a program geared toward educating adults of new alcohol and drug trends. Bobbi Brooks, Program Manager for the Watch UR BAC program with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, graduated from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska and majored in Early Childhood Development.  Bobbi obtained her EMT certification and was a volunteer firefighter while earning her degree.  She has over 13 years’ experience educating youth and adults on traffic safety.  The majority of the time has been spent in the area of alcohol and drug awareness.  Bobbi is also a certified child passenger safety technician.
