On Oct. 30, 2022 at approximately 11:59 a.m. the Longview Fire Department responded to 105 Fifth Ave. for a reported structure fire. When crews arrived they found smoke coming from the structure. Crews made entry into the structure and found fire in a bathroom that had burned into a wall. The fire was quickly extinguished and damage was estimated at $2,500. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire was determined to have started due to a candle being too close to combustible materials.

The Longview Fire Department responded with 3 fire engines, 2 ladder trucks, 1 ambulance and 4 support vehicles for a total of 21 personnel.
