Gosar to Phoenix VA: Take Better Care of Our Veterans

As you may know, veteran issues are among my highest priorities as your representative.  In Congress, I serve on the Military Veterans Caucus, the Rural Veterans Caucus, and the Veterans Jobs Caucus, which allow me to advocate for veterans and advance legislation promoting the well-being of veterans.

The Phoenix VA has failed to provide acceptable care for our veterans and upon further investigation, I have noticed some alarming deficiencies in the care provided.  Aside from egregiously long wait times for appointments and consultations, there is a lack of continuity regarding doctor and patient relationships, with veterans seeing a new doctor nearly every visit.

As a former medical care provider, I understand how critical a continuous doctor patient relationship is as well as the importance of timely medical care.  Upon reading a report titled “Deficiencies in Quality Management Processes and Delays in the communication of Test Results and Follow-Up Care at the Phoenix VA Health Care System In Arizona,” I decided to take action by recently sending this letter to the Phoenix VA outlining my grievances with their treatment of veterans and requesting information regarding areas I believe they need to significantly improve.

Gosar Sponsors Legislation Blocking Woke Pronoun Mandates

The Biden regimes’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a new mandate that made failure to use “preferred pronouns” a fireable offense for employees. Our nation is already faced with woke, left-wing propaganda rewarding one person over another simply for holding pronouns that may not align with their biological sex.  Rather than furthering a division amongst the American people, the federal government has far greater problems to address than mandating using preferred pronouns as condition of employment.  This week, I cosponsored the Safeguarding Honest Speech Act, legislation blocking the Biden regimes woke “preferred pronoun” mandate.   The Federal government should not be forcing anyone to use a pronoun that contradicts biology.

It’s Mail Time!

I receive thousands of letters each week and I appreciate hearing from everyone.  Here are a sample of some of the letters I received this week:

Danny R. from Star Valley, AZ sent these kind words:

Happy Holidays to you and your family and thank you for what you do in our government.

Thank you, Danny.  As a member of Congress, I tend to focus on the problems we face and the solutions we need.  Every now and again we need to step back and take an inventory of all the fantastic blessings we have.  Our families are at the top of those blessings and Thanksgiving is here to remind us to thank God for all our blessings.  God bless those with children and grandchildren.  It is for them we are working to restore this country.

John W. from Kingman, AZ makes some valid arguments:

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, I enjoy reading your newsletter. It’s always an insight into the incompetence of our present government on both sides of the aisle.

The GOP is losing control and credibility at an astounding rate but can’t see it because of their own arrogance. The Dems continue to lose sight of everyday Americans at an alarming rate. They are trying to force Americans to capitulate to their demands. Lie, continue to lie, pretend it’s the truth, and people will begin to believe it.

Maybe the GOP should begin by getting rid of their “self-righteous BS and realize it’s not about them, it’s about the American People! Stand together and realize they’re not going to get anywhere fighting among themselves. Sorry to tell you this but, the GOP infighting is turning conservatives and independents against you. 2024 could easily become another 2020, 22, and 23. Y’all promise America a lot. Your messaging ***** and there is no common message. One politician says one thing, another one says another. Get your act together or the GOP will lose again.

Speak straight to your peers in congress, Congressman Gosar. They need to get their “S—t” together. Or will lose. Keep up the great fight, sir!  Again, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

John.  I have seen the divisions in our country, and in Congress and within our party.  You are not wrong.  In Congress 70 members of my party refused to vote for even a 1% budget cut.   Dozens more refused to impeach the person in charge of border security.  We have a four vote majority that will likely drop to a two vote majority since dozens of Republicans want to expel Rep. Santos.  At that point we are merely power sharing with no real majority.  If Republicans do not get their act together soon this Congress will go down as the most incompetent, irrelevant and immaterial Congress in recent history.  John, I have spoken out at our conference meetings.  As of today, many are not listening to common sense.  I will continue to pressure them.  Thank you for speaking up.

Mike H. from Phoenix writes:

Hello Congressman Gosar, I received your newsletter, good stuff. Writing about things that really matter to us. The one thing I wish you would talk about is the fraud in elections. We the People do not hear nearly enough from our elected congressional representatives about this. Why has congress not done so? If nothing is done about this, 2024 will be the same result. We need paper ballots, same day voting, voter IDs, no more 3am ballot dumps. Again, if nothing is done, why even vote? We need our representatives to speak out. Thank you for your conservative stance, and strong support for America First.

Mike, while there are basic federal laws against discrimination in voting, the actual voting processes are under state law and state control.  That is why most of the litigation seeking election integrity was done in state courts.  I spoke up in 2020 about the election irregularities in Arizona. I challenged the federal certification of the Arizona electors on January 6th.  I did that because I saw enough concern and evidence of irregularities that I wanted the Arizona legislature to have the chance to review and audit the 2020 results.  That did not happen because a riot interrupted our proceedings.

I remain concerned about the integrity of our elections.  I supported many of the bills to improve ballot security that passed the state legislature this year.  Katie Hobbs vetoed all of them.  In my view anyone who is against election transparency and fairness has something to hide.  We need a way to determine that all valid votes were counted, and no invalid votes were accepted.  We are not there yet.  The Democrats are hell bent on voter fraud and blocking reforms that make the process transparent.  I will keep hammering away in Congress.
