Cypress College's OC Teacher of the Year Recognized

Mathematics faculty member Sarah DeMartino was recognized as Cypress College’s Orange County Teacher of the Year selection during last week’s Board of Trustees Meeting. DeMartino was selected by the Associated Students and affirmed by campus leadership.

With her selection, DeMartino becomes the campus nominee for the Orange County Department of Education’s 2024 OC Teachers of the Year award. In addition to being honored at the Board meeting, DeMartino learned of the award when she was surprised in her classroom by members of A.S. and campus administration on February 6.

Women's Basketball Team Headed to State Championship Tournament

First-year Head Coach Brittany Imaku led the Chargers women's basketball team to victory in the SoCal Regional Final March 4 with a 10-point win against Moorpark College. The Chargers will advance to the CCCAA State Championship Tournament at West Hills College Lemoore where they will face Butte College, the #1 seed in the Northern California bracket, in the quarterfinal match on Friday, March 10, at 5 p.m.
