Rules of Civility by Amor Towles

Twenty-five-year-old Katey Kontent, a young woman in post-Depression era New York, suddenly finds herself thrust into the upper echelons of New York society, where she will have little to rely upon other than a bracing wit and her own brand of cool nerve. The title is available in various formats in the catalog. Space is limited. Registration with Paso Robles City Library card required for each participant. (Group reservations cannot be processed.) For ages 16+.

Make a Felt Appliqué Brooch

Registration Deadline: Friday, January 13
Materials Pick-Up Party: Wednesday, February 1

6-7 pm, Library Conference Room

Inspired by the quilts used by those traveling the Underground Railroad, create a wearable felt appliqué brooch resembling one of the blocks commonly used on these historic quilts. This is a perfect class for beginning and intermediate crafters, requiring design, sewing, and embroidery techniques. Space is limited. Registration with Paso Robles City Library card required for each participant. (Group reservations cannot be processed.) For ages 16+.

Baby Story Time: Mother Goose Is on the Loose Again!

Thursdays, 10 am, Story Hour Room

Mother Goose on the Loose, better known as Baby Story Time, is back with Miss Carrie. Baby Story Time is an early literacy program for ages 0-18 months that uses nursery rhymes and songs to create positive connections between children and their caregivers. Due to the nature of this highly interactive hands-on program, one child per caregiver present is recommended. Adults must accompany their child into the Story Room. Space is limited, so please pick up your admission tickets at the Children's Desk prior to Story Time.

Children's Story Times

Mondays: Grade-School Story Time: Animal Tales with Miss Frances at 2:30 pm. A story and craft appropriate for children in grades K-5.
Tuesdays: Bilingual Grade-School Story Time: Cuentos y Crafts with Cristal at 4:00 pm. Bilingual stories and craft appropriate for children in grades K-5. 
Wednesdays: Preschool Story Time with Miss Melissa at 10:00 am. Stories and a craft specially selected for school readiness, ages 4-6. 
Thursdays: Baby Story Time with Miss Carrie at 10:00 am. Nursery rhymes and movements to create positive connections, ages 0-18 months.
Fridays: Toddler Story Time with Miss Cappy at 10:00 am and 11:00 am. Stories, songs and a craft specially selected for early literacy skills, ages 1-3. 
All Story Times are in the Story Hour Room. Space is limited. Come early to pick up admission tickets at the Children's Desk.
