The goal of the Smuggs Ice Bash is to promote the sport of ice climbing, to educate climbers, to exhibit and demo new gear, and to share a weekend of fun, challenge, and inspiration with other winter enthusiasts in one of Vermont’s most amazing places, Smuggler’s Notch.
The kick-off party and drytool competition take place at Petra Cliffs – 105 Briggs Street Burlington, VT 05401.
Weekend clinics and presentations take place at the Cambridge Community Center – 22 Old Main Street Jeffersonville, VT 05464.

Drytool Competition and Ice Bash Kickoff Party
The Drytooling Competition on Friday, January 26th is going to be (take your pick): awesome, inspiring, insane, off the hook, the best use of your Friday night ever, and a damn good time – it’s where you’ll want to be! Come watch as some of the East’s strongest climbers converge to try their axe-wielding hands at hanging on and moving through obstacles on FoamIce, stalactites, stein-pulls, and more…
Starting at 6pm @ Petra Cliffs Climbing Center
$10 Entry fee, includes 1 raffle ticket
Bring cash for additional Raffle Tickets, raffle proceeds benefit CRAG-VT

Public Demos: Drytool Route, Swing into Foam Ice, Climb with Dry Ice Tools

An evening of community, guest speaker presentations, and stoke in celebration of ice climbing. Meet other climbers, check out our event sponsors, and get inspired by unique conversations and exciting guest presenters. A cash Raffle to benefit CRAG-VT will take place during the evening presentations. Evening entry fee is $15-25.
Presentations start at 6:30 PM
