The Woodland Opera House Weekly Newsletter - October 4, 2022

Arts and Entertainment

October 6, 2022

From: Woodland Opera House Theatre

October is off to a great start, and we look forward to the opening this Friday evening of the premiere production of The Ghost of Woodland Opera House. Written by local playwrights, Matthew Abergel & Bob Cooner, the anticipation of their work making it to our historic stage after almost five years is very exciting.

We’ve received some great media coverage recently about this show. Did you happen to see the article in the Daily Democrat over the weekend? Find the abridged version of the article Here. Our digital billboard display near I-5 and County Road 102 (pictured) is up too, and we're so grateful for it. The playwrights have also done recent interviews on radio and a podcast that we'll tell you more about soon.

If you haven’t gotten your tickets to this show yet, you must! Inspired by the history of the WOH and the heroism of volunteer firefighter William W. Porter, the single casualty of the fire of 1892 that resulted in the loss of the original Opera House, the dramedy follows a troupe of traveling actors in 1909 who arrive at the theatre to perform their latest melodrama. While there, mysterious accidents make a mess of their dress rehearsal. Could it be the ghost of William Porter? Find out by seeing the show. It’s perfect for the Halloween season!

Reserved seats are $30 for adults, $28 for seniors 62+, and $15 for children 17 and under. Balcony tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for children. Flex Pass specials and group rates are available. Purchase at the button below or at our Box Office (530) 666-9617 / 340 Second Street.
