TADA Update

From Education Director, Andrea St. Clair

When I moved into my position as Education Director in June of 2021, we were still in the midst of a pandemic. Faced with changing health mandates, we started back with in-person instruction with approximately 130 students on the books. I am proud to say that a year and a half later, we have approximately 400 students - from ages 3 through adult - enrolled in our various classes, workshops, and programs. That’s huge!

Some success stories:

Our 2023 Show Biz Kidz program, now in its 26th year, has full enrollment! In fact, our afternoon session for ages 11-17 sold out in just 24 hours! We currently have 79 registered with waitlists of hopeful students.

Classes are currently closed to prepare for our Spring Dance Showcases, Through the Looking Glass, but classes remain full and thriving!

Our Rising Stars children’s theatre program is back and reinvigorating a new generation of performers! Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS features 28 energetic performers ages 7-12 years old and opens this weekend while our summer production of Godspell, JR. has reunited to take a selection of their show to the Junior Theatre Festival West this coming weekend in Sacramento. Those 15 teen performers, ages 12 to almost 17, will also participate in workshops and a concert through the 3 day event sponsored by iTheatrics and Music Theatre International.

We are excited to announce that in addition to bringing back our holiday dance production of The Nutcracker Sweet, we will also be performing Peter and the Wolf in tandem one-acts with your holiday favorite. This update will provide an additional opportunity for dancers to hone their craft and gain experience onstage. More information regarding this piece to be released soon!

We are currently confirming dates/times for more summer workshops, auditions for Matilda, Jr. (Rising Stars ages 11-18), and auditions for next season’s training and performance group, Broadway Bound. All of that information will be updated on our website and social media, so stay tuned for more details!

TADA is thriving and we are forever grateful for our community, and for your continued support of our educational programming!
