This Friday night at 7:30 p.m. pirates will take land on our historic stage with the opening of Treasure Island, A Musical Adventure. We can't wait as we know they'll be bringing an exciting story based on the classic book by Robert Louis Stevenson. Get ready for a raucous tale that includes treasure maps, mutiny on the high seas, and plenty of sea shanties and Yo-Ho-Hos!

Great for all ages, this Theatre For Families production is directed by Jeff Teague, and will be a memorable experience for the whole family! Performances are on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. through January 22.

Reserved seats are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 62+, and $10 for children 17 and under. Balcony tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children. Flex Pass specials and group rates are available.

Auditions This Weekend!

Young Frankenstein

Sunday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m.

Monday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m.

Please join us for auditions this weekend. Share your talent and become a member of the Woodland Opera House family!

When:

Sunday, January 15th and Monday, January 16th, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. (Performers need only attend one evening.) Auditions will begin with a short dance audition followed by vocal auditions. Those auditioning are free to leave after they have completed their vocal audition.

Where:

Woodland Opera House Theatre and Dance Annex, 520 Court Street (at College Street), Woodland, CA. No appointment is necessary. Invited callbacks will be held the evening of Tuesday, January 17th.

What to Bring/How to Prepare:

- Please come with sheet music to a prepared song (16-32 bars) from a comedic song either from the show or in the style of Young Frankenstein. An accompanist will be provided. Have a second song prepared in the event you are asked to sing again. Dress to dance (please bring tap shoes just in case.)

- Bring a list of conflicts for rehearsals. Conflicts will affect casting and are not allowed after March 30th, 2023.

- To expedite the process, please start your audition form ahead of time by going to Cast98. All auditionees will need to complete an online form prior to auditions, any additional information on how to set up your online Cast98 profile can be found here.

- Due to the nature of the show, these auditions are open to all actors ages 18+.*

- All roles are available. We promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in our casting.

*Actors must be 18 by the time of auditions.

We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our students and community by following the guidelines provided by Yolo County and the CDC. In accordance with the latest guidelines, the Theatre And Dance Annex (TADA) is now masks optional. We highly encourage families to make the best decision for their students. We will still have masks available on hand and will be following proper sanitization standards to ensure a healthy environment for all. TADA is located at 520 Court Street, Woodland. Hours are Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Phone: (530) 650-8203.

Youth Workshops

Acting Workshops are Back!

Acting A to Z 

Ages 9 Through 12 Years Old

Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m.

(Class workshop length :55 minutes) 

Teen Acting Workshop 

Ages 13 Through 18 (Senior in HS)

Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. (Class workshop Length :55 Minutes) 

Our Acting Workshops will be back again this spring allowing new and veteran young actors the chance to study and learn the acting craft! Each class becomes more nuanced as the students get older, allowing age-appropriate material to be covered. Each workshop is 55 minutes in length and is taught by Woodland Opera House veteran actor and drama teacher, Karen Fox. These workshops are recommended to be repeated and are not to be missed if one wants to become a better, stronger performer. 

This class is held at the Woodland Opera House Theatre – 340 2nd Street, 3rd Floor. 

Workshop Length: 6 weeks, February 28th through April 4th. Tuition: $115 

Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move well in, bring water, and a notebook.

Join us at the theatre on Sunday, January 29th for a wonderful look back at shows of the past and an introduction to our upcoming 2023-2024 production season. Enjoy free entertainment and door prizes. The schedule for the evening is as follows:

6:00 p.m. – Doors open, concessions and bar open for purchase.

6:30 p.m. – Program will begin.
