Purchase Tickets Online

The Opera House is the place to be this Friday night when our production of Bye Bye Birdie opens! Come on down for a relaxing evening of quality entertainment at the theatre. This show is packed full of great musical numbers, lots of top notch dancing, and a hilarious script.

The show is directed & choreographed by Staci Arriaga, whose work you may have seen in our past productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie42nd Street, and Hairspray, to just name a few - so you know that this will be a good one! The story of Bye Bye Birdie was inspired by the phenomenon of Elvis being drafted in the 1950s. It follows teen heartthrob, Conrad Birdie, as he prepares to join the Army. To properly bid farewell to his adoring public, Birdie travels to a small town in Ohio for his final television appearance and to share an on-air kiss with young local, Kim McAfee. Needless to say, the town is in an excited uproar to prepare for his arrival, which leads to a whole lot of laughs.

Performances will take place on Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m., June 17 - July 10. Tickets are on sale now at the button below or directly from our box office at 340 Second Street / (530) 666-9617. Hours: Tues. - Fri. from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Musical Theatre Dance Workshop with Jeff Teague

Every performer needs to keep skills sharp and honed for auditions, rehearsals, and performances, so why not join a class that is structured for the performing artist? This class is designed to challenge both the novice and experienced dancer by offering different styles of musical theatre dance weekly along with helpful feedback for performers to grow successfully as they await their next opportunity to audition and/or perform.

See what people say about Jeff and this class:

“Jeff made the (class) very welcoming, relaxed, and stress free – something I haven’t felt before when attempting to dance in front of others!” - Shane Burrows about Musical Theatre Dance

“Jeff's class is enjoyable and interactive. He makes a point not only to assess each dancer individually but provide specific feedback for each student. The choreography is simple enough that even a novice could learn, yet still challenging for those who have had previous dance experience. I have learned a great deal from him!” – Irma Weldon, Musical Theatre Dance

Details: Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. , June 8th through July 13th.

Tuition: $125

Drop-In Rate: $20 per class.

Reflection on the Past Year

It’s been nearly a year now since we began to reopen the Opera House. And what a year it’s been, with constant activity including our 2021-2022 season of shows, and various other performances – even the celebration of our 125th anniversary! We’ve gone from only having cardboard cut-outs as our audience, to nearly selling out during performances of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, how incredible is that?

Some other notable milestones are that we reopened the building’s original ticket window at the top of the stairs, and it now serves as Will Call for our patrons. We hired a much needed full-time Technical Director (Robert Pickering), who has positively impacted all of our productions. And, next week we’ll commence with our 25th edition of the Show Biz Kidz Summer Theatre Camp! It’s such an amazing thing to know that our program has touched so many young lives (approximately 1,500) through the years. We look forward to seeing their smiling faces on our historic stage, yet again!

We are grateful to many. To our sponsors, underwriters, volunteers, actors, staff, and to everyone who supported us so that we could once again raise the curtain in our beautiful theatre. Thank you!
