About Us

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization. A community service organization, the American Legion now numbers nearly 3 million members, in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts worldwide.

You've probably heard of The American Legion. We're veterans just like you who care about America, veterans, their families and our nation's youth. The Legion is a powerful voice in Washington dedicated to preserving the rights we've all earned and were promised by service to our nation in uniform.

Who we are…
Post #110 is located in Oakhurst, California - roughly 40 miles north of Fresno in the Sierra Foothills on HWY 41. The Post was first established in 1988 and has honorably served Veterans and the Community of Eastern Madera County ever since. We are an integral part of the benefits in having served this wonderful country.

What we do…
Our Post has a General Membership Meeting at 7:00pm, dinner at 6:00pm, on the THIRD Wednesday of EVERY MONTH. During our meetings, we discuss issues concerning our Post, general membership, volunteerism, national affairs, veterans, children and youth issues and community service/fund raisers. We currently have over 100 members who believe in the continued support of our nation and community.

We provide local community support for our veterans as well as participating in the Boys and Girls State Honor Programs, American Legion Americanism Jr-High School Program and Oratorical contests.

Why…
We first and foremost believe in what America stands for and the continued
service to our Country, values and ideals. "FOR GOD AND COUNTRY"
