AngelDogs Foundation (www.angeldogsfoundation.org) launched its mobile spay/neuter program in March 2009. Developed to reduce impound and euthanasia rates in Los Angeles and Kern County shelters, to date, the mobile clinic has fixed, vaccinated and micro-chipped more than 23,000 animals and has become a sustainable, self-supporting program.

Despite best efforts of shelter staff and volunteers to find forever families for the overwhelming number of homeless pets, their efforts can't keep up with the endless stream of animals that come through their doors day after day. Estimates range from eight to ten million cats and dogs are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Spay/neuter is the only 100% effective and permanent method of birth control for dogs and cats, and proven to reduce the vast numbers of animals who are born to die without a family who loves them.

The Foundation's main goals are to educate the public to assist in eradicating the companion animal overpopulation crisis, and to reduce impound and euthanasia rates by making spay/neuter affordable for everyone. Equipped with the best in veterinary equipment, the AngelDogs Foundation mobile clinic staff has extensive experience in providing high quality, low cost, spay/neuter services to the public with special attention to high customer service. Our veterinarians and veterinary technicians are trained in High Quality/High Volume and Pediatric sterilization procedures. We also provide each client with a rabies vaccination and microchip free of charge, and offer reasonably priced vaccinations, if the owner elects.

Most recently and after rescuing their first deaf dog in 2009 and many more that followed, AngelDogs Foundation opened the doors to the AngelDogs Foundation Deaf Dog Ranch.  As the first, all-breed rescue ranch for deaf dogs in the country, we are contacted by various shelters, people and organizations from across the U.S, to help save the lives of these dogs with one of the most common, yet unrecognizable and/or misdiagnosed issues found in all breeds, and slated for euthanasia.

These dogs, often the first on a shelter's red list, have proven to be quite special.  When properly assessed and trained using ASL and other techniques, these dogs blossom to become exceptional companions.  While with us, our dogs are cared for in a climate-controlled indoor/outdoor kennel where they receive top-quality food, training, and loving care until they find forever homes. We provide post-adoption training to help create a positive transition into their new forever home. Deaf dogs are highly bonded, smart, affectionate, easy to train, and eager to please.

Each member of the AngelDogs Foundation team recognizes that it's not just a job, it's a mission. We are all committed to improving the lives of companion animals and their people. Our services help prevent loss of life, and create safer communities in some of the most challenged neighborhoods in Los Angeles and Kern Counties.
