BSA Troop 777 Of Encinitas

1207 Upas Street
760-438-5300

About Us:

Our troop is structured around the Patrol which is formed of six to eight like-aged scouts when boys join the troop. They will stay in these same patrols throughout their time in the troop. Each patrol elects a Patrol Leader and an Assistant Patrol Leader every 6 months in March and September. The patrol should have two meetings per month to work on advancements; typically at the home of the Patrol Leader.

The troop is led by a Senior Patrol Leader who is also elected for a six month term in March and September. The SPL will designate other scouts to participate in other troop-wide positions such as Assistant SPL, Quartermaster, Librarian, Scribe, Historian, Chaplain's Aid, Den Chief, Troop Guide, and Instructors (for First Aid and Orienteering).

Together with the Patrol Leaders, this group forms the Troop Leadership Council (TLC) and they will meet monthly at the SPL's home to plan troop meetings and outings with the Scoutmaster. Serving in some capacity on the TLC for 4 to 6 months is an advancement requirement for each of the ranks above First Class.

Details and current positions are detailed in our Troop Organization Chart and in the Troop Roster. These are available electronically, but you need to be a member of the troop and send an email to the webmaster for instructions.
