Calvary Preschool

1013 Fremont Avenue
626-799-0385

About

The Preschool has been sponsored by Calvary Presbyterian Church since the school was established in 1959. Calvary Preschool is open to any child without regard to race, creed or national origin. The church considers the Preschool to be a ministry and outreach of support to its members and to the community. It is not the intention of the Preschool to instruct the children in any particular religious doctrine but rather to share with them the experience of what it means to be a child of God.

The Preschool is licensed by the State of California and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are proud of our accreditation, which is a voluntary process that includes a self-study and a professional review.

Calvary is affiliated with the Church Related Early Childhood Education Fellowship and the Southern California Association for the Education of Young Children.

Our Purpose

- To present a Christian environment where all children can enhance their self-esteem through developmentally appropriate experiences.

- To provide an atmosphere in which the child may develop at his or her own speed.

- To guide the children along the road to growth and independence as responsible individuals by providing early opportunities to interact with peer groups and develop in their abilities to share, take turns and solve problems.

- To help each child feel that he/she is a person of worth and ability.

- To expose the child to ideas and experiences that are developmentally appropriate.
