Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church

157 Monte Vista Avenue

Emmanuel Missionary Baptist church began in June of 1958. Seeing the need for a Baptist Church in San Dimas, California, Reverend Shelter T. White began holding Bible study in his home. He continued his teaching until he was called to Pastor at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Pomona, California. Not wanting to give up the spiritual quest for the community, Reverend White asked Reverend John H. O’Neal to carry on the work.

Still in need of a church building, the Spirit moved on the heart of Reverend E. Jones to donate his home at 137 Commercial Street in San Dimas, the church was organized and incorporated by Reverend O’Neal. Pastor White resumed leadership in 1963 and since that time Emmanuel continues to make tremendous strides in its commitment to God and man. Our present location is the Historical location of the 1st City Hall in San Dimas, California.
