Fontana Chamber of Commerce Mission

A Chamber of Commerce is a concept found only where private and free enterprise exists. The Fontana Area Chamber of Commerce organized in 1941, gives expression to local business by helping to improve the community. It recognizes all the factors which affect the volume of business in the city. As a voluntary organization of the business community, the Chamber unites businesses, professionals, individuals, and firms to create a central agency whose goal is to improve business and build a strong economy.

The Fontana Area Chamber of Commerce is a organization of people. No community members need to be excluded; in fact, anyone who desires to improve the city and the conditions under which business is conducted may join. Since the Chamber organizes and directs the energy of its various members, the Chamber can accomplish collectively what no individual could do alone. The strength of the organization lies in its ability to attract the greatest number of individuals and firms into membership, for the larger the pool of natural and human resources the greater the ideas, energy and finances. The major responsibility of the Chamber is the community's economic strength. It works to increase wealth and prosperity by facilitating the growth of existing businesses and attracting new ones. Greater wealth can establish or improve civic, educational and cultural facilities, and thus attract more business and industry. The Chamber meets the responsibility in three steps.

-It examines community needs to determine ways to make the city a better place to live or do business.
-It channels community resources to fulfill these needs.
-It organizes and develops leadership to guarantee that the Chamber will become an effective force to foster expansion and improvement.
