About Us:

Hospice of Morongo Basin is a Volunteer Hospice, founded in 1982 as part of the nationwide grassroots movement to improve care of the dying. Hospice treats the dying person as a whole person and the patient and family as the unit of care. Hospice does not provide care towards a cure, but aggressively treats the symptoms that accompany the dying process. The major focus is on pain control and symptom management, also known as comfort care. Hospice care also addresses the emotional, social, psychological, and spiritual needs of the patient and family.

Hospice of Morongo Basin specializes in providing volunteer and bereavement services to all in the Morongo Basin in need. Our services are provided primarily by unpaid volunteers. We currently serve more than 250 seriously ill patients and their families each year. Our bereavement program serves an estimate 400 clients per year. In addition to Patient Care and Bereavement Care, Hospice of Morongo Basin also provides community education and information and referral. Our services are offered free of charge.
