Old Fruitvale School And Community Hall

3425 Fruitvale Road

About Us:

The school building and grounds are owned and operated by the Fruitvale Community Hall Corporation, a group comprised of an all-volunteer Board of Directors.

In the 1970s, after sitting silent and empty for 30 years, the schoolhouse was sold to the newly formed Fruitvale Community Hall Corporation. In 2001 (a year marked by unprecedented population growth within the city of Lincoln), with most of the original supporters aging or deceased and the building in desperate need of repair, a five-year redevelopment and renovation program was undertaken to revitalize and refurbish the facility. In 2005, a new Board of Directors emerged to carry out the organization's mission of providing educational programs related to the early years of the School's existence and the history of agriculture in Western Placer County. Assisting the Board are the many dedicated members of the Fruitvale Association which is comprised of a few school alumni, several long-time supporters, and a growing number of area newcomers.

Funding for the educational programs and building upkeep is received from sources such as the Fruitvale Association, Red Apple and Angel membership dues, individual and memorial donations, used books sales, rental revenue, community and private grants.
