The Professional Latin American Association (Formerly the Professional Latina Women's Association) is a nonprofit organization, which was formed in August 2000 with the following purposes in mind:

 

 

·        To promote the richness and beauty of the Latino Cultural Arts to the community. 

 

·        To raise scholarship funds for local graduating seniors & re-entry students in Kings County

 

·        To serve as mentors and role models to the community's youth

 

·        To serve as a social networking organization and for the purpose of enhancing the

 

personal and professional collaboration of its membership
