Mission:

Red Scarf Society for the Performing Arts is organized to:

Enhance the cultural life and promote the arts in the communities of Siskiyou County.

Serve as a support group for the Yreka Community Theater which is owned by the City of Yreka. This will include sponsoring events in the Theater.

Provide education outreach to the students of Siskiyou County.

Fund raising for projects and performances.

About Us:

Our name comes from the fact that one of our members who was responsible for our first concert was gifted a handmade “bumpy” yarn scarf to wear to a trip to New York where it was a “hit”.

She and our group decided this distractive scarf would provide easy, fun and attractive recognition. Over 160 scarves have been home knitted.  The majority of scarves has been given to those actively involved in the organization and have been sold to interested supporters.
