Second Congregational Church

2051 North Main Street
802-824-6453

History:

Our church building was built in 1840 as a Methodist Church (that’s why we have stained glass windows, which most UCC churches do not have). Methodism, for whatever reason, did not catch on in Londonderry, VT in the 1840’s.

In an attempt to hang on financially the Methodists sold the Methodist Parsonage to the Peck Family. It was a private home for over 100 years. In the 1970’s, the church - Second Congregational Church - bought the building from the Peck family.  We now refer to this building as the Peck House (the Thrifty Attic and Neighbors Pantry are located in this building which is just on the other side of the church parking lot).
