Who We Are

Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue is an independent donor supported 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, run by committed volunteers.  We are a No-Kill Shelter.  We provide care for abandoned and homeless animals until placed into permanent homes.  We are dedicated to providing humane treatment and quality of life for the animals.  To date, we have placed over 5,000 animals into loving, permanent homes.

Your donations to the Thrift Shop directly benefit our homeless animals. Proceeds from the Shop provide medical care, food, shelter, vaccinations and all other necessities for these precious animals in our care.  We are accepting your new and gently used tax deductable donations at our Thrift Shop, 855 Gray Avenue in Yuba City.  For more informaton, call us at 530-755-2025.  If you have larger furniture items, we can pick them up with prior notice.  Please be aware, some things may not sell in our Thrift Shop and we might not be able to accept those types of items.  Please call first if you are in doubt.  We are open Tue-Sat, 10-5 and we appreciate your donations.

OUR MISSION

  • Control the over-population of canines in our area, by spaying and neutering all animals before being released by the rescue.
  • To educate the public on the importance of vaccinating and altering their pets.
  • To work closely with local animal shelters to help place adoptable dogs.
  • To network with other rescues and exchange information on adopting certain breeds
  • To provide a very necessary service to homeless and abandoned canines in the three surrounding communities that otherwise is not available.

The primary objective and purpose of this organization is to:

  • Establish and maintain a shelter that provides a safe environment for homeless and abandoned dogs and puppies.
  • To spay, neuter, vaccinate and provide any medical attention the animal needs while staying at the rescue.
  • To place our canines in safe, loving, and permanent homes with responsible pet owners.
  • To accomplish all of the above within 30 days of the animal arriving, due to the fact that Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue is not a sanctuary.
