The Corinthian Yacht Club Founded in 1886, Corinthian Yacht Club is more vital today than ever!

We maintain an active race schedule, a monthly cruise schedule, and a varied and imaginative entertainment schedule. We're pleased to provide fine and casual dining for members and visitors and happily host a full schedule of cruise-ins to our harbor. Located at the foot of Main Street in scenic Tiburon, the Clubhouse is also the site of weddings and other private events through the separate Corinthian Catering and Dining company.

History

The Corinthian was founded in 1886 by a group of high-spirited young yachtsmen who wanted to promote amateur small boat yachting in the Bay Area. The word "Corinthian" is taken in the sailing world to mean "amateur" and is derived from the Corinthian games in ancient Greece, contemporary to the Olympic games and took place on the ithsmus of Corinth. The Colonial Revival clubhouse-the oldest on the West Coast-was built in 1911, and offers a spectacular unobstructed view of San Francisco Bay. Arguably constructed as a folly, the clubhouse features massive Corinthian columns to tie its name to its design.
