Now in its 18th year, the 20x20 ART EXHIBITION AND ONLINE AUCTION is an annual fundraiser designed to celebrate art and support AMoA’s innovative education programs as well as our local artist community.

AMoA is welcoming patrons to the museum for a 20x20 reception on Thursday, March 28th, 2024 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Artworks will be sold to the highest bidder with bids starting at $150. The exhibition will be installed for museum visitors to view for two days, March 27-28. Images of the artworks will also be featured on the AMoA website where they can be viewed, and bid on, from the comfort of a home computer, smartphone or tablet beginning on March 22. Although we will be hosting an event at the museum, all bidding will take place online and bidding will end at 8:30pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

The exhibition will include artworks from invited artists, as well as work from artists juried into the exhibition. For the juried segment, anyone who wants to submit a 20 x 20-inch artwork to be juried by the AMoA Alliance 20x20 Committee is eligible to participate. Please pass along this opportunity to be juried into the exhibition to artists you think may want to participate.

AMoA’s gallery space and online format limits the number of artworks in the exhibition to approximately 80 with the following targets:

• 40 artworks from artists invited to participate.

• 40 artworks from artists selected by jury to participate.

The artworks in the exhibition will be sold via silent auction at a starting bid of $150. Fifty percent of the sale price will help fund educational programming at AMoA and fifty percent will go to the artist. Artists may choose to donate their proceeds to AMoA.

The generosity and support shown by artists participating in this event is vital to our museum and greatly appreciated by the AMoA Board of Trustees, Alliance, and staff. Participation in this event enables AMoA to continue bringing first-class art programming to area schools.

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS

• Artists may submit only ONE artwork.

• Artists must be 18 years of age or older.

ALL artworks must be no larger than 20 x 20 inches.

• If your work requires a frame—i.e. photograph, print or drawing—keep in mind that the outside dimensions of the frame may not exceed 20 x 20 inches.

• All entries will be measured. Any piece that exceeds these dimensions will not be accepted. No exceptions.

• A digital image of your artwork must be sent to the museum no later than 5pm, Sunday, March 3, 2024. Please provide label copy for your artwork that includes your name, title, and media used. Please email your image to [email protected].

• Label copy that includes the artist’s name, title of the work, and media used, must be provided with the image and upon delivery of the artwork.

• Selected artwork must be delivered to the AMoA (2200 S. Van Buren) no later than 4 pm, Monday, March 11, 2024. Work delivered after this deadline will not be included in the exhibition.

• The name of the purchaser of your artwork and the sale amount will be provided to the respective artist.

• We believe the likelihood of your work selling is very good; however, if the work does not sell, AMoA will notify you to arrange for the work to be reclaimed.

• Payment will be made to the artists within two weeks following the close of the exhibition/auction.
