Gallery Exhibit and Artist Talk by Anne Guillot

Join us during Downtown Lafayette's Second Saturday Artwalk for a gallery exhibit, artist talk, and special guest artists.

Featured artist Anne Guillot is a Cajun-Creole multimedia artist from St. Martinville, Louisiana who currently resides in New Orleans. Her work includes visual references to folkloric, hyper-local, collective mythologies with a specific focus on the natural, mundane and lived realities present at the intersections and boundaries.

Anne Guillot's gallery exhibit and artist talk "Bayou Bathers: NuTêche" reveals the inspiration behind the St. Martinville native's series of bathing female figures

Anne presents how she investigates ideas and experiences related to unspoken facts or revised histories that often remain as faint traces between the living and their senses, visiting us as familiar repetitions, coincidences, reminders, pauses, at the edges of perception, compelling our experience in the present.

Special Guest Artists Abby Guillory and Bob Borel

Abby Guillory is a linocut artist and native species enthusiast. She has made a special 'zine just for this May Art walk. Don't miss her workshop on identifying and appreciating native Louisiana plants and animals.

Bob Borel is a multimedia artist and educator whose Unflattering Abstract Portraits have become a staple for ultra-local art connoisseurs. He's helping us celebrate our first Art Walk by setting up his iconic street art studio at the Roy House.
