Fostering Art & Culture in Acadiana

AcA will focus its SOLA Giving Day efforts on renovating the Dora Rauschenberg Education Studio, a multipurpose classroom at AcA sorely in need of an update.

Each year, more than 2,000 young people have classes in this space during summer camps, field trips, and other outreach activities.

They deserve a clean, updated, and not junky space to work out their creative muscles.

Your gifts through SOLA Giving Day support the mission of the Acadiana Center for the Arts - a thriving part of culture and community here in Acadiana!

Organizations and Individuals can apply for up to $7,500 for Creative Community Projects in the 2025 Cycle of Louisiana Project Grants

Submissions are now open for the Louisiana Project Grants (LPG), a program funded by the Louisiana Division of the Arts and administered for Region 4 by Acadiana Center for the Arts.

LPG supports creative community projects in Acadiana with up to $7,500 in funding per project with just under $100k available up for grabs. LPG is open to a range of applicants including nonprofits, libraries, municipalities, schools, universities and those organizations and individuals who lack 501(c)3 status may use a 501(c)3 as a fiscal agent.

This year, a barrier for some applicants has been removed - the cash match is no longer a requirement meaning more organizations and individuals may find it easier to apply.

Summer Arts Camps are filling up!

Ever want to write your own original song? In this camp led by a local singer/songwriter, campers will discover effective melody, rhythm, harmony, and lyrical techniques.

After creating with lots of support and feedback, campers will have the opportunity to record a demo of their original song. Instruments are welcome, but not required!

This camp is a half-day only - Monday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm.

Audrey Marie is a singer-songwriter from Lafayette, Louisiana who started recording original music at 14.

Writing songs using guitar, piano, and organ, her genre can be described as indie folk, indie pop, and alternative country. She’s taught music lessons for 6 years including songwriting.
Her songs are heavily influenced by nature and use comparisons of nature to paint a visual to our deepest emotions.

Songs of Survivors will host a songwriting workshop for military veterans on May 17 at Acadiana Center for the Arts.

Facilitated by SOS Executive Director and singer/songwriter David St. Romain, these workshops are designed to help veterans heal from trauma through the power of music.

In this six-hour workshop, veterans can share their stories and then write a song with a musician facilitator about those experiences.
That song is then professionally recorded, and veterans receive a song they can call their own.
