The Adams County Arts Council’s 14th Annual Gingerbread Celebration & Holiday Market is set for Fri., December 1, noon to 8 p.m., Sat., December 2, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sun., December 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in conjunction with the annual Gettysburg Christmas Festival. Admission to see the gingerbread houses, which range from intricate structures to simple creations, is free for children with a $1 donation requested for adults. Kennie’s Market sponsors the event held at the Arts Education Center, 125 S. Washington St., Gettysburg.

The public is invited to vote with dollars for its favorites in person or online at www.adamarts.org.   Houses with the most votes win cash prizes totaling $1,600 for bakers in 4 categories: Family/Individual/Amateur, Young Baker, School/Non-Profit, and Businesses.

You can take a gingerbread house home when you are high bidder in the Gingerbread House Online Auction at www.biddingowl.com.   No room for a house but would like to support ACAC’s community arts programs?  Be high bidder, donate the house, and volunteers will deliver it to a school, care facility, or charity just in time for the holidays.

Shop at the Holiday Market, featuring handmade gifts by 14 local artists and craftspeople. The Market also features a gift basket silent auction and bake sale. Children are invited to decorate a giant gingerbread house and play free games to win prizes.

On Saturday and Sunday, you may park and hop a shuttle bus, departing every 20 minutes, from either HACC Gettysburg Campus or the Gettysburg Rec Park. The bus will drop you off at the Arts Education Center, Stop #7.  See the Festival’s schedule at www.mainstreetgettysburg.org.
