Welcome to the Centerville - Washington Township Americana Festival

The Americana Festival Committee is excited to bring the Centerville – Washington Township community together once again for what promises to be the biggest and best festival as we celebrate 50 years of the Americana Festival.

This year’s Americana Festival begins with a bang on the evening of July 3rd at the Centerville High School Stadium, 500 E. Franklin Street. A variety of food vendors will be on hand at the stadium entrance.   

The celebration continues on Monday July 4th with a 5K Run, Parade, Arts & Crafts Street Fair, Live Entertainment, Auto Show and lots of food concessions.

July 3, 2022

7:00pm: Americana Community Concert:

The Americana Concert will be held on July 3rd, following the Flag Ceremony (7:00PM), at Stubbs Park on West Spring Valley Road.  Enjoy Patriotic music performed by Centerville Community Band and Chorus.

10:00pm: Fireworks:

Americana's Legendary Fireworks: Brought to you by Miami Valley Hospital South

Celebrate the Fourth of July at the annual Americana Festival that begins with a bang on July 3rd, the night BEFORE the Festival at the Centerville High School Stadium, 500 E. Franklin Street. A variety of food vendors will be on hand at the stadium entrance.  This year we are planning to bring back Best Seats in the House seating; check back later for further details.

Gates open at 6 p.m. The Miami Valley Hospital South Fireworks show lights up the sky at 10 p.m. and is synchronized to music provided by Jack FM 92.9.

Before the Miami Valley Hospital South fireworks show, come party with Dayton's favorite '80s band--Stranger--at Centerville High School stadium. The band starts about 8:15pm. Hear your favorite '80s songs as the band leads right up to the fireworks!

Ohio's Largest One Day Festival

Street Fair

A Wide Variety of Activities for Young and Old Alike! Each year, the Street Fair continues to grow.  Featuring 300 craft and food booths, artists, musical entertainment and a children’s game and activity area, the Street Fair also showcases staged and strolling performers.

An individual/group interested in having a booth at the Street Fair to sell handmade crafts, original art works, or to promote their civic organization (eg. school, public service, etc.), may submit an online application or download and complete this application form.  The completed form is to be mailed with full payment to Americana Festival Inc.

7:30am: 5k Run/Walk:

The Up and Running, Americana 5k Run/Walk is once again hosted by the Centerville Noon Optimist Club. ARRIVE BY 7AM.  The race will start at 7:30am on July 4th at the Centerville High School Stadium on East Franklin Street.  The race is chip timed and results will be available immediately at the race.

Registration is ONLINE ONLY this year, and you can SAVE $5 by registering early!   Register for only $30 through June 15th.   The registration fee includes a high quality moisture-wicking T-shirt for the first 800 registrants.  Registration is $35 starting June 16th through race morning, and will include a T-shirt if still available. Packet Pick-Up will be July 2nd and 3rd from noon to 3 PM at Up and Running, 6123 Far Hills Avenue near Dorothy Lane Market in Washington Square.   Online registration with packet pick up will be available at this time, and will include a T-shirt if still available.

Online registration remains open right up until the start of the race.  Timing chips and T-shirts (if available) can be picked up at the Centerville High School Stadium beginning at 6:30am on July 4th.  

Parking on race morning is available at the stadium, which is located behind the high school.  Due to the race and parade set up, Franklin Street will close promptly at 7am.  You will not be allowed through to the high school on Franklin St. after 7:00am, no exceptions.  The police department has notified us that there will be changes in security which are likely to cause delays.  Please plan to arrive early!!  Thank you for your understanding.

To ensure the safety of all participants, no cars will be permitted to exit on to Franklin Street after the race.  The main exit of the high school will be closed.  ALL vehicles will be directed to the exit at the rear of the parking lot, near the baseball field, on to Judson.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 overall Male and Female racers.  Awards to Top 3 in each Age, Gender and Wheelchair category.  Awards Ceremony at 8:30am at the Centerville High School Stadium or picked up at Up and Running the following day.  Race Results will be posted at speedy-feet.com.

10:00am: Parade:

A regular highlight of the Americana Festival is the parade on July 4th.  

The Parade begins at 10:00am on East Franklin Street, west of Centerville High School, and proceeds West to Cline Elementary on Virginia Avenue. Showcasing more than 120 units, the parade features numerous bands, floats, and numerous mobile and walking units.

If you can’t make it to the parade — watch it live on Time Warner Channel 5. Centerville Community Relations Officer John Davis and City of Centerville Communications Director Kate Bostdorff will introduce you to the bands, floats, youth groups and other participants as the Miami Valley Communications Council and its crew are live from the heart of the festival, on Main and Franklin Street. You can also relive all the great moments from the parade at mvcc.viebit.com, Centerville’s YouTube channel or Time Warner Channel 5.

Auto Show:

The Americana Auto Show begins at 11:00 am on MONDAY July 4th. The Antique, Classic and Custom Auto and Truck Show will be located near Marion's Piazza on North Main Street. The Show highlights the old, the new, and the classics of the automotive world.

The first 150 registered participants will receive a dash plaque, T-shirt and a goodie bag. A drawing for door prizes will be held during the awards presentation at 4 PM in the afternoon.

Day of the show is registration fee of $25.00 can be made with a cash payment at registration table or by credit card using the online registration (see below) method.

Day of Event registration begins at 9AM and runs until 11AM, we will have pre-registered and unregistered lines at our registration tables, we encourage pre-registration to reduce waiting time in the registration line. Those arriving after11AM will be considered as “Late Arrivals” and will not be permitted to drive their autos where pedestrians are viewing already parked vehicles and will be placed at the end of the show. Vehicles must remain in place until after 4PM.

Awards will start at 4PM.
