Happy New Year!

At the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM), we believe children learn best by doing and so we are committed to immersive, hands-on, environmental education programs.  Fees for these programs cover only a fraction of the costs since 40% of our students are from low-income families. Our dedicated and professional education team hosted approximately 10,000 students this past year with ambitious plans to expand in 2023. Our education team stays busy year-round with summer camps, “School’s Out” and afterschool programs, field trips, scout programs, and a record number of birthday parties. The Box of Rain (BOR) Program, offered free of charge to children from Annapolis area public housing, continues to grow and evolve with 108 students participating in a variety of programs, including Build-A-Boat which starts in a couple of weeks.

“I will share with you that no matter what the tests results show, our students' experience with your program forever changed their lives. They participated in experiences they otherwise never would have. It was monumental for them!”?

– 6th grade teacher

Our education programs are in high-demand, and we can only meet that demand with your help. So before saying goodbye to 2022, please consider making a tax-deductible gift to help our community raise a child with sound environmental principles and a sense of their local heritage.

Here's how your contribution can help make an impact:

- $100 pays for a pair of waders for children to splash into the Chesapeake Bay capturing critters.
- $250 covers the cost of a child from an underserved neighborhood to attend a Box of Rain enrichment program.
- $500 will help to purchase ten (10) needed tandem kayaks allowing our students to physically get on the water and connect with our Bay.
- $1,000 provides (4) four scholarships to summer camps for children who can not afford to attend.
- $2,500 underwrites programming aboard the skipjack Wilma Lee for five classes (150 students).

Thank you for ALL you have done for the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park in 2022. We could not have experienced the explosive growth and impacts without your support.
