Announcing CRT's Auditions for our Summer Season

Cortland Repertory Theatre, Cortland, NY is announcing auditions for non-union performers, ages 19 and up, for their upcoming 52nd summer season.

Auditions will be held at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland, NY on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 19 – 21, 2024. 

All rehearsals and performances will be held in Cortland from May 21– August 17, 2024. Commitment dates vary per production.

Productions include:

My Fair Lady – book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Frederick Loewe, adapted from George Bernard Shaw's play and Gabriel Pascal's motion picture Pygmalion.

The Last Romance by Joe DiPietro

Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville - book by Greg Garcia and Mike O’Malley, music and lyrics by Jimmy Buffett

Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast - music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman & Tim Rice, book by Linda Woolverton

At this time, all roles are open. All roles paid. Performing internships, including weekly per diem and class credit if arranged, are available for college students. Housing and travel stipend provided for actors from outside of the Central New York region.

Auditionees must provide a current, non-returnable 8x10 photo and theatrical resume. For non-musicals, please prepare one 1 - 2 minute monologue. For musicals, please prepare 16 – 32 measures of two contrasting pieces. Pianist will be provided; auditionees must bring sheet music, clearly and neatly marked with any cuts. Dance callbacks will be held in the late afternoon of each day.

NOTE: Primary casting will be done from this audition, after which will be determined if we will accept video submittals, if we will attend audition conferences or if we will be holding further in-person auditions in New York City or elsewhere.

Auditions for youth under the age of 19, for the roles of Chip in "Beauty and the Beast" and Gloria in "Wait Until Dark" will be held later in the spring. Watch our website for announcements.

Auditions for the summer season at The Rev Theater Company in Auburn are also being held this weekend. While we encourage auditioning for both theatres, if you choose to do so, please schedule your appointments on different days. The two locations are about an hour apart and if you get a callback for both, you will not have time to go between both theatres in one day.
