The National Committeeman and the National Committeewoman serve as leaders of the Illinois Republican Party and the Republican National Committee. These are volunteer positions of great responsibility. The National Committeeman and the National Committeewoman must be prepared to serve in a number of different roles: fundraiser, advisor, implementer, moderator, activist and motivator. The National Committeeman and the National Committeewoman are generally responsible for representing Illinois Republicans at both the state and national levels. To varying degrees, the National Committeeman and the National Committeewoman will be coordinators of party activities and party development. The National Committeeman and the National Committeewoman will be looked to as a face of the party and therefore will potentially need to serve as its spokesperson, talking to news media and publicly supporting Republican policies and candidates. The National Committeeman and the National Committeewoman also serve as party liaisons with the general public, campaigns, government officials, and various organizations. This will also require them to serve as a mediator, peacekeeper, and sounding board.

The National Committeeman and the National Committeewoman shall be selected by the Illinois Republican Party’s State Convention Committee to Nominate National Committeeman and National Committeewoman at the Illinois Republican Party State Convention on May 24, 2024. E-Mail the completed applications with required attachments outlined below to ILGOP Executive Director Matt Janes at [email protected] by May 3, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

- Complete and sign the Notice of Intent portion of this Application.

- Complete and sign the Ethics Disclosure portion of this Application.

- Provide a copy of the individual’s certified voting record demonstrating that the individual has voted in the Republican Primary Election in each of the three (3) most recent General Primary Elections held in the State of Illinois (2024, 2022 and 2020) as evidenced by the individual having requested a Republican ballot according to the official voting records of the election jurisdiction in which the individual resides. This General Primary Election
voting requirement shall not apply to an election in which an individual: (a) who did not vote and can demonstrate that they were on active military duty at the time of the election, (b) was not of legal voting age at the time of the election, or (c) was not a resident of the State of Illinois at the time of the General Primary Election and the individual can show proof of voting Republican in the General Primary Election of the State in which the individual previously resided, as contemplated by Article II of the Bylaws of the Illinois Republican Party.

- Provide a Letter of Recommendation from an Illinois elected Republican Party Official or Republican Government Official.

- Provide a current copy of the applicant’s resume.Participate in an interview in person with the State Convention Committee to Nominate National Committeeman and National Committeewoman at the Illinois Republican Party State Convention.
