Earlier this year, Bob and Mary* painted a bowl for their dog Jack at the Falmouth Art Center. It was an idyllic scene that hid the difficulty of their situation — Mary is suffering from a degenerative brain disease that is impacting her memory.

On this day, art was giving the couple, married since 1968, a way to bond with one another despite the challenges they are facing.

"This class is healing, comforting. Tell the people who fund this that it's so helpful. I appreciate it. My wife appreciates it," Bob told us.

Your support of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) made this therapeutic clay class, which we funded through our annual grant giving, possible. And your support provides healing and comfort to people like Bob and Mary who desperately need it.
