From: Artworks at 7th Gallery

It’s summer and all around the Chesapeake the flowers are in bloom!  Especially at Artworks @7th.  Our July show will feature the floral artworks of Lesley Alexander and Jacquelyn Dinora.

Come see Jackie’s “Late Summer Hydrangeas”, her “Red Peony’s” and much more. Her watercolors are so lifelike, you’ll think you’re looking at a photograph.

The majority of Lesley Alexander’s work is graphite drawings and acrylic paintings. Lesley has had a vast amount of clients with a broad subject matter but her passion has always been equine. Even though horses are her true passion she puts the same amount of detail and ambition into all her other subjects. Her floral paintings look as if you could pluck them from the garden.

Our guest artist this month is Gary W “Doc” Scribner. He has traveled to over 40 countries and to all 50 US states, capturing landscapes on film and digital media, since the mid 1970’s. Gary’s first “exposure” to photography was witnessing his father develop photos in the basement of their house in Baltimore, Maryland…circa 1959. His philosophy is: “Excellent photography results are a product of  refined technique and preparation, shooting discipline, persistence, thorough site research, sound equipment and most important: good luck.”

Please join us and meet our featured artists at our opening reception on July 1 from 1 until 4; light refreshments will be served.  If you can't make the reception, visit the gallery any time during the month to see art from local artists.

Money spent locally stays in the local economy and continues to strengthen the economic base of the entire community. Small local businesses make indispensable contributions to communities and neighborhoods. Supporting local artists allows them the opportunity to continue to serve their communities. You will often see members of Artworks@7th supporting local charities and organizations by participating in art shows, teaching workshops, and donating items for fundraisers.

ArtWorks@7th is located at 8905 Chesapeake Avenue (near 2nd street) in North Beach, Maryland. Our summer hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
