Hell: Arts of Asian Underworlds & Bernice Bing: Open Call
NOW OPEN

First, take a a rollicking romp through the many ways that Asian visual cultures have imagined the afterlife of the condemned at Hell: Arts of Asian UnderworldsSee paintings, sculptures, maps, puppets, and religious objects from India, Tibet, China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, and the Philippines offering a colorful variety of visions of the underworld, ranging from the serious to the light-hearted.

Then see the first open call presentation in the Asian Art Museum’s history! In honor of Bernice Bing, watch videos and read texts by emerging artists and writers whose work you might not otherwise encounter in the museum. The Bernice Bing: Open Call gives these emerging artists the platform and exposure that Bing never received in her lifetime.

Dance Dialogues Pop-Up Series: Urban Jazz Dance
