Athol Public Library - Now Lending Nature Explorer Activity Kits!

Schools and Libraries

September 21, 2022

From: Athol Public Library

The Athol Public Library began lending these kits in late spring, and there’s still time to enjoy them! Topics include feathers, bird watching, insects, monarch butterflies, and animal tracks and scat.

In the kits you will find tools such as magnifying glasses, binoculars, bug catching equipment, butterfly houses, tape measures, and black light flashlights. You will also find introductory books full of images and ideas for getting out and getting to know nature better.

These kits were purchased with funds from the Athol Library’s LSTA Dig-In grant, offered via the Institute for Museum and Library Services and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

The kits are free to borrow and are suitable for kids and adults! Stop by the library to check them out! The library is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 9:30 – 6:00; Tuesdays: 9:30 - 8:00; Fridays: 9:30 – 5:00, and Saturdays from 9:30 – 1:00.
