BCA is offering a second application cycle for communities to benefit from our Arts on the Block grant. Apply to receive funds to bring the arts to your local block party while the warm weather is still here. Applications open today, Monday, August 8th! You can register for our Info Session taking place online Tuesday, August 23rd at 6:00 PM to learn more about this grant opportunity.

Join us on Friday, August 19th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM for the Closing Reception of Light & Shadow: Rethinking Visual Spaces, curated by Lizzy Alejandro, and don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the works of Donna Diamond, Valeria Divinorum, Samantha Holmes, Mona Saeed Kamal, Leonardo Madriz, Geoffrey Owen Miller, Sohhee Oh, and Michael Young.

The Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos is open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays  from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM and Wednesdays from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

LONGWOOD ART GALLERY @ HOSTOS

The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) is seeking a NYC curator for its Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos Winter 2023 exhibition, Untold Narratives. This group exhibition, will focus on artworks created by artists of Middle Eastern, African, and Asian backgrounds/descents. Bringing to life intimate stories, the exhibition seeks to offer a glimpse into the artists’ communities and explore connections between the past and present.

UNDERREPRESENTED WOMEN COMPOSERS - THEIR STORIES AND MUSIC

ANN ROGGEN

Violist Ann Roggen (she/her/hers) is experienced in a wide variety of solo and ensemble work, and is known as an insightful educator. "Underrepresented Women Composers - Their Stories and Music" will explore music by Florence Price, Margaret Bonds, Jessie Montgomery, and Gabriela Lena Frank, with concerts in three locations.
