Bronx Council On The Arts : Calling All Dance Industry Workers

Arts and Entertainment

November 2, 2022

From: Bronx Council on the Arts

This summer, Dance/NYC launched the Dance Industry Census, the first effort to ensure that every member and dance-making body in our community gets counted. To date, hundreds of dance workers, organized dance entities and businesses have completed the Census.

Over the past few weeks, however, members of the dance community have expressed the need for more time to make sure that every dance worker and dance-making entity has the opportunity to get counted. The Dance/NYC team has received and recognized this feedback and in response, has decided to extend the Dance Industry Census deadline to Thursday, December 15, 2022

This means we have eight more weeks to make sure that no matter who we are, where we are, and what our contribution to dance might be, each and every one of our stories has the chance to be recognized in this effort.

If you have completed the Dance Industry Census, thank you. If you have yet to complete the Dance Industry Census, you can get started today. Please also take a moment to forward this email to your personal and professional networks with a note to ask them to share their experience as a member of or an organization within the dance community.

We must not let this moment pass us by. Through our collective efforts, we can strengthen our dance ecology and make certain that the stories, needs, and contributions of us are all recognized and represented.

Thank you for your continued work and partnership!
