Trash Service- Important Inf
All trash and recycle and compost (in season) MUST be out to the street before 7am on Friday/Service Day. Even if it seems they get to your house at a much later time. It must be out before 7am.
GFL has been following up on service issues. They are correcting issues on their end. Through their investigating they have found that many of the calls we get about “missed garbage” are residents calling because they missed the truck. GFL has been sending the Township GPS snapshots of where a truck has stopped and in some instances, they are taking pictures of stops where nothing is set out for service.
If you do not have your trash and recycle (and compost during the season) out when the truck comes by, they will not come back out. Your items will be picked up on the next service day.

Kirk in the Hills Church Tour
The tour departs from the Highland Activity Center on N. John Street at 10am on Thursday, February 16th.
Kirk in the Hills was the dream and vision of Colonel Edwin S. George, a Detroit businessman whose gift of his home and estate (Cedarholm) in 1947 made the Kirk possible. As early as 1933, he saw the need for a church in this area and established the George Foundation for that purpose. The congregation was organized by the Presbytery of Detroit in 1947, and the first services were held that year in Cedarholm Chapel (formerly Colonel George’s music room). The cornerstone for the church was laid in 1951, the same year Colonel George died. His remains are entombed under the narthex of the Kirk's sanctuary.
