Dear Cinestudio Cinephile:

As a loyal friend and supporter of Cinestudio, you know our mission is to provide a cinematic experience that is second to none. Each year, we work hard to curate a diverse offering of quality films and programs for you to experience on our iconic big screen. Perhaps you joined us for an anniversary screening or a remastering of such classics as The Trial, Lost Highway, or The Discreet Charm of The Bourgeoisie. Our festival programs, such as the Italian and French film festivals, continue to attract crowds alongside current blockbusters, like with our successful Oscar Palooza. All these films and many more are what make Cinestudio such a diverse and unique gem to our community.

New this year, we began offering The Met Opera: Live in HD with impeccable sound and imagery; it felt like you were viewing it live in New York City. We hope to see many of you again when that program resumes in October. We also engaged local families during our holiday family movie week and brought nearly 500 K-12 students to the theater through family and school performances. We held the Connecticut premiere of Call Jane starring Signory Weaver and had many talkbacks that carried over into lively conversation in the lobby. We partnered with Hartford Stage and the Hartford Public Library for the screening of When My Sleeping Dragon Woke and continued our holiday screening tradition of It’s A Wonderful Life. 

Lastly, we were finally able to honor Peter McMorris and James Graham Hanley at this year's Gala celebration for their tireless devotion to Cinestudio. We also started a new tradition by naming our first Volunteer of the Year award recipient, Mark von Mayrhauser (Trinity ’73).
