City of Anna News: Fall Programming Comes with Crayola Tickets

Government and Politics

September 12, 2022

From: City Of Anna

You're invited
The Anna Municipal Complex ribbon cutting event will be hosted on Sept. 13 at 5:30 p.m. The entire community is invited to attend.

Provide input on our Splash Pad
The splash pad at Slayter Creek Park will soon undergo major renovation. We would like to invite our neighbors to a public input opportunity on Sept. 19 at the Parks Advisory Board. We will discuss preferred features, theme and amenities. Come out and help us shape the splash pad that will provide cool Summer fun for the next generation of Anna’s children!

City returns to Stage 1 Water Restrictions
We want to thank the community for its conservation efforts over the past several weeks. Outdoor watering has reduced enough to return to Stage 1 water restrictions. As a reminder, for Stage 1 Water Restrictions:

- We ask all neighbors to voluntarily reduce their irrigation watering to 1x/week. Odd addresses should water on either Tuesday or Friday. Even addresses should water on either Wednesday or Saturday.
- We will enforce our existing watering requirement of no more than 2x/week, per our existing Ordinances.
- We have contacted HOAs to request for them to decrease watering to 1x/week voluntarily.
- We are asking all businesses to decrease their watering to 1x/week voluntarily.

We will continue to do our part as well by continuing to avoid all non-essential water use. We ceased vehicle washing and other non-essential watering and only irrigate the bare minimum amount required to keep public landscaping alive.

Fall Recreation Guide now available
Don't delay, now is the time to view the fall recreation guide, register for activities and mark your calendar for community events. Receive 2 free tickets* to the Crayola Experience for pre-registering for any program!

Limit two Crayola Experience tickets per household. Tickets can be retrieved from the Neighborhood Services Department.

Peanut Butter Drive returns
We've joined the North Texas Food Bank’s Peanut Butter Drive. The drive increases awareness about food insecurity in Collin County and, to help alleviate it, collects jars of peanut butter to feed hungry neighbors and their families. Last year, City of Anna staff and neighbors donated a total of 160lbs of peanut butter and earned 2nd place for overall donations. Help us support the NTFB, feed our neighbors, and beat our previous record.

Please drop off jars of peanut butter, plastic only please, by Sept. 30 to the Anna Municipal Complex, 120 W. 7th St. (8a.m. to 5 p.m., Mon-Fri). We thank you for your generosity.

Reminders
The fall sweep is nearly here
The annual Fall Sweep is coming up fast. Sept. 19-23, neighbors are encouraged to pick up litter and trash at their own pace and then record their achievement. Register to participate in Fall Sweep.
