Community survey results available for viewing
In the Fall of 2022, the City of Anna, in partnership with Polco, surveyed residents on 10 facets of community livability. The Anna Community Survey Report summarizes all results and key findings of a statistically valid representative sample of the City of Anna residents. The survey results highlighted four significant findings from the data, including:

- Most residents feel a strong sense of safety in Anna.
- Anna’s economic health is important to residents.
- Residents feel Anna’s natural environment and recreational opportunities are important and have room for growth.
- Residents value the City’s infrastructure but have concerns about quality.

At the Jan. 10, 2023, City Council Meeting, an independent researcher from Polco gave City Council an overview of the findings.

This morning, City Manager hosted a breakfast to share the results with community members. Each month, the City Manager hosts breakfast for neighbors to gather together and have a conversation about current projects, ask questions or simply chat.

Successful Coyote Backpack Project food drive
Today, volunteers helped sort and pack more than 300 meal kits for the Coyote Backpack Project. The Community Enhancement and Compliance Division orchestrated the food drive in honor of the National Day of Service. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service (MLK Day) is the only federal holiday that is also designated by Congress as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.”

The Coyote Backpack Project provides meals to students on the free lunch program with meals to take home on the weekend. We are proud of our community for coming together and showing so much support. We had plenty of supplies left over that we'll be donating the school district to pack more in the future. Thank you Anna neighbors!

Prepare for Bulky Item pick up week
Next week is bulky item week! Do you know the basics of what is accepted? It is critical to know the rules in order to ensure a successful pick-up. It is imperative that your bulky items be at the curb beside your bins and fit into an area that is equal or less than 3 cubic yards or 81 cubic feet. Items should be at the curb by 7 a.m. to guarantee pick-up. Visit www.annatexas.gov/trash for more details.
