Voluntary water restrictions
We are joining other DFW cities in water conservation efforts by entering Stage 1 water restrictions. What does that mean?

-We ask all neighbors to reduce their irrigation watering to 1x/week voluntarily. Odd addresses should water on either Tuesday or Friday. Even addresses should water on either Wednesday or Saturday.

-We will enforce our existing watering requirement of no more than 2x/week, per our existing Ordinances.

-The City will be participating by stopping all non-essential water use at our facilities. We will cease vehicle washing and other non-essential watering and only irrigate the bare minimum amount required to keep public landscaping alive.

-We will be implementing a construction water use management plan with all new construction to reduce water use in construction.

-We are contacting all HOA’s to request for them to decrease watering to 1x/week voluntarily.

-We are asking all businesses to decrease their watering to 1x/week voluntarily.

Please join us by doing your part. We anticipate that we will need to move into Stage 2 water restrictions later this month if no rainfall occurs. This decision will be made with City Council approval.

July is Parks and Rec month
At the July 12 City Council meeting, the Anna City Council formally recognized July as Parks and Recreation Month. In the City of Anna, our parks and recreation divisions are vitally important to establishing and maintaining our quality of life, ensuring the health of all neighbors, and contributing to the economic and environmental well-being of our community. We are so appreciative of everything our parks and recreation teams do for Anna every day.

In honor of Parks and Rec month, we encourage you to celebrate by signing up for our recreation programming or by exploring our parks and trails. Discover the playgrounds at Henry Clay "Yank" Washington Park and Baldwin Park. Join us at Slayter Creek for Fitness @ the Park classes or grab some friends for tennis and disc golf

Splash pad closed for the summer
Unfortunately, the Slayter Creek Splash Pad will be closed for the rest of the 2022 season. For the safety of our neighbors, our staff is currently evaluating options for repair and renovation to be made before the 2023 season.

Neighbor Academy applications are now open!
Anna's Neighbor Academy is a program designed for neighbors to learn more about the City and develop their leadership skills over ten weeks. This ten-session academy takes neighbors “behind the scenes” of City operations, programs, and initiatives. For the fall, Neighbor Academy will run every Thursday evening from September 1 to November 8. Each cohort will include neighbors who are either new to civic engagement or have been actively volunteering in their neighborhood or with the City. At the end of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, receive Anna Neighbor Academy Alumni status, and be officially recognized before the Anna City Council. To take learning into action, participants will complete a community service project as well.
