Anna, once too far north, finds itself at the center of two North Texas growth stories
Anna, which started as a small town along a railroad stop, finds itself in the center of two North Texas growth stories. Developers and city officials in Anna have already seen a flood of new residents over the last few years with the rapid growth of Dallas-Fort Worth, especially since the pandemic brought in more residents from out of state and allowed people to work remotely. Is this sleepy village the next North Texas boomtown?
Anna, TX, 45 miles outside of downtown Dallas, was once considered too far north for serious development. But the DFW metroplex has increasingly grown outwards since the pandemic brought in new residents from out of state and allowed more people to work remotely, bringing the one-time whistle-stop town to the attention of major developers. Anna FD recognized for life-saving EMS response
Earlier this month, Baylor Scott & White Hospital presented its Stroke Service Award to a group of Anna Fire Department personnel for their efforts to assist an Anna man who had suffered a severe stroke. Battalion Chief Chuy Eaton, Captain J. Metdker, Engineer RJ Morgan, and Firefighter/Paramedics G. Murray, D. Makowski, R. Nylec, and B. Woolverton were each recognized during a special ceremony at the hospital. Read more.

We want to honor our veterans
The Community Enhancement and Compliance Division is giving away yard signs to our local veterans. Signs are available on a first come, first serve basis and can be picked up at Anna Municipal Complex from Oct. 24 to Nov. 10. If someone is homebound, email us and we will deliver.

The 10 days of Halloween begins Saturday
This October, spend 10 days counting down to Halloween with us. We have a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy...even pups!
